California runs its own OSHA-approved state plan through the Division of Occupational Safety and Health. Its rules are not the federal rules. Every California employer must maintain a written Injury and Illness Prevention Program under Title 8 CCR §3203, which has no federal equivalent, and the state has its own heat illness standard.
Region 9 is a Nevada firm holding federal OSHA outreach authorization. On California projects we work inside your Cal/OSHA program – enforcing it in the field, documenting it, and keeping your subs to it. We are not the people who write your IIPP or file your Cal/OSHA paperwork, and any safety firm that tells you a federal OSHA card covers California is a firm to be careful with.
